Dorianne Laux’s most recent collections are The Book of Men (winner of the Paterson Prize) and Facts About the Moon (winner of the Oregon Book Award), both available from W. W. Norton. Laux is also author of Awake, What We Carry, finalist for the National Book Critic’s Circle Award, and Smoke. She is co-author of The Poet's Companion: A Guide to the Pleasures of Writing Poetry. Widely anthologized, her work has appeared in many literary journals. She and her husband, poet Joseph Millar, are founding faculty at Pacific University's low-residency M.F.A .program. They live in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she teaches poetry and directs the M.F.A. program at North Carolina State University.
