There’s nothing wrong with my ribcage, really
the bones are strong and supple.
As a cage, though
it’s a total failure.
My heart is a slippery fish;
I never manage to keep it inside
a year, maybe two and then
It’s gone in a wriggling flash.
Today it has fallen into a very cold,
very dark river,
with a strong current.
